Spending XP
Characters may spend XP during downtime, when they are not involved in any scenes.
The following is the cost matrix for purchasing character traits:
Primary attribute | Level purchasing x10 |
Secondary attribute | Modifier level x3 |
Skill | Level buying x2 |
Advantage | Book cost x1 |
Buying off a disadvantage | Book cost x1 |
Balanced trait | Level buying/paying off x1 |
Power | Level buying x5 |
In all cases, characters must justify their XP expenditures in one way or another. Someone seeking to increase their strength should spend time in a gym. Someone trying to learn a new spell should do research. Such tasks are usually suited to downtime and may be worthy of a "completed goal" if role-played satisfactorily.
